Our troop has a connection to the very beginning of scouting. Collin and Dane's family had a farm (called Rawhead) in Cheshire England that earliest scouts used for camping.
Here is a picture of the farm and some scouts coming to talk with their great-grandmother Mary in the doorway about 1925. The plaque over the doorway dates the farmhouse to 1860. Farm House
Here is a picture of some scouts at the farm house. The scoutmaster, Mr. George Plunket, (right rear of group) was involved with scouts all of his life and recieved the Silver Bear Award from the Queen. This is England's highest award for adults in scouting. Scouts
