Summer Camp for 2003 will be held July 13-19th at the Occoneechee Council Camp Camp Durant. Please see the July calendar for all available information. Mr. Bob Moore is coordinating that trip. Prepare to sign up in February of 2003.
In addition to summer camp, there are usually high adventure trips that are scheduled more than a year in advance. These are organized by adults in the troop with an interest in that particular trip. Typically, we go to one of the three scout high adventure sites (Philmont Ranch in New Mexico, Northern Tier in Minnesota or SeaBase in Florida). Watch out for announcements during the year. Be prepared! These trips usually have an age requirement and are not inexpensive.
Troop 845 goes to at least one week of summer camp per year. Depending on the interest, we have had more than one week.
In Summer 2002, Troop 845 went two summer camps. The first July 7-13th took place at Camp Bud Schiele in Rutherfordton, NC. 54 boys and 14 adults went on this trip and had an incredible time. Pictures of the trip were taken by Mr. Potter Pictures at Bud Schiele. Others were taken by Mr. Thomas More Pictures at Bud Schiele.
There was some golfing going on, but what was up with these outfits?

Here is the group picture taken just after we arrived at camp. Okay, now for the test.... Identify everyone in this picture. The first one who gives me a correctly identified list of everyone in the picture wins an ice cream. My e-mail link is at the bottom of this page.

A smaller but equally excited contingent went to Camp Cherokee in Yanceyville, NC July 28th to Aug 3rd. A great time was had even when the temperatures reached near 100 F and the humidity resembled a sauna.
Hopefully somebody took some pictures, because I didn't. I was too busy taking showers to stay cool :)
