We participate with three other UNCrystallographers in a shared instrumentation resource originally funded by NIH and supplemented generously by NSF and the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.
The X-ray instrumentation is housed in two adjoining laboratories of 300 and 400 square feet, and include a Rigaku RAXIS IIC imaging plate system mounted on an RU200 rotating anode generator, an Oxford Cryostream crygenic airstream device, a second RU200 generator with a San Diego Multiwire Systems dual chamber area detector and an Elliot GX13 big wheel generator, and two VAXstations.
Computing and graphics resources include a cluster of three DECstation 5000/200, and four Alpha AXP (3000/600 and one 2100 server), an ESV 10 and an SGI 4D workstations.
Wet laboratory facilities reside in a 600 square foot laboratory plus a 200 square foot segment of an adjoining room.
